Cross Country Skiing in St. Anton
St. Anton am Arlberg is not only a popular destination for downhill skiing. The world village also offers countless opportunities for cross-country skiers to exercise in fresh air and enjoy their winter holidays to the full. A network of approx. 40 km of cross-country ski tracks runs through the eastern Arlberg area. The region has been awarded the Tirol Seal of Approved Quality for its snow reliability, the well-marked trails and the number and variety of cross-country ski runs. The trails are groomed for both skating and classic technique and offer fun for beginners and experts alike.

Cross-country ski run ST. CHRISTOPH 2.5 km
The cross-country ski track St. Christoph runs alongside the ski slope, which is great to meet with downhill skiers. You can reach the track with the local bus service. The bus station is a 2 minutes walk from Hotel Arlmont.

Cross-country ski run STANZERTAL 22 km
The cross-country ski run Stanzertal starts near the Aubrücke in St. Anton and is within 10 minutes’ walk from the Hotel Arlmont. The gentle cross-country ski run leads along the Rosanna to Flirsch and can be managed without any difficulties.
Cross-country ski run GANDERAU 3 km
The cross-country ski run Ganderau is starting east of Hotel Tirolerhof in the district St. Jakob. It is an easy loop trail, which is connected to the Stanzertal track - dogs allowed. You can reach the trail by the local skibus, the bus station is next to Hotel Arlmont.
Cross-country ski run VERWALL 10 km
One of the most scenic cross-country ski runs in Austria - the Verwallloipe – can be convenientlyreached within a 20-minute bus ride. The bus stops just a few metres from the Hotel Arlmont, taking visitors to the village centre and continuing to the Mooserkreuz. A short walk takes skiers to the country ski run which alternately climbs and descends through the romantic Verwall valley to the restaurant Wagner Hütte and the Verwall lake. Parallel to the cross-country ski track a wonderful winter hiking path runs all along the way to the Verwall lake.
The cosy Wagner hut, which lies directly adjacent to the Verwall cross-country ski run, is ideal for a stopover or a substantial meal. Skiers can refuel with homemade Tirolean specialties and refreshing drinks surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery. Winter hikers or cross-country skiers who are completely exhausted can take the bus back to the Mooserkreuz and to St. Anton (charges apply). Now it’s not far to the Hotel Arlmont where the 550m² wellness area is wonderful to relax after a strenuous day.
