Definitely worth the walk is the 10 km winter hike along the old Arlberg road to the beautiful Lake Verwall. For the perfect finish, the nearby Wagner Hütte is ideal, where you can round off your eventful winter hike with delicious specialities of authentic Tyrolean cuisine. If you like, you can shorten the route using the ski bus. Option 1: Take the ski bus to Mooserkreuz and start your winter hike from there. This shortens the route by around an hour and roughly 150 metres of ascent, and starts you off directly in the snow-covered natural landscape. If you start the hike at Hotel Arlmont, the tour runs through the village of St. Anton along the Arlberg road to Mooserkreuz on roads open to traffic. Option 2: You can shorten the return leg of the winter hike by around 1.5 hours by taking the ski bus from Wagner Hütte to the village centre. From there, you can stroll comfortably through the village centre to Hotel Arlmont in St. Anton and enjoy the village’s charm. Incidentally, the winter hike to Lake Verwall in St. Anton can also be tackled on cross-country skis. Running parallel to the winter hiking trail is the cross-country ski trail from Mooserkreuz to Lake Verwall and back via Wagner Hütte.
