70 km Winter and snowshoe hiking paths

You only have to take the first step - and then the next - and listen to how the snow crunches underneath your boots.

The imposing mountain peaks seem close enough to touch, the snow cover glistens in the sunlight and there is a moment of peace and tranquility. The best way to reach the untouched spots of the Arlberg region is on foot. You will experience a special natural spectacle when trudging through the deeply snow-covered winter landscape in St. Anton am Arlberg on foot or on snowshoes. Following the small paths and groomed winter hiking trails along the Rosanna in freezing temperatures, you discover alder trees covered with ice crystals. A memorable experience off the ski slopes in your winter holidays in St. Anton am Arlberg.

The Arlberg region offers a huge variety of activities. Whether for families with small children or for ambitious winter hikers, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Over 70 km of signposted winter hiking trails around St. Anton am Arlberg lead over mountain slopes, through forests, along the river Lech and past cosy alpine huts and restaurants which invite you to stop by and relax over a piece of cake or a hearty snack on the sun terrace.

Our insider tip: Trail to the Verwall lake

We recommend the 10 km route along the old Arlberg road to the beautiful Verwall lake. A visit to the nearby Wagner Hütte rounds off the scenic tour nicely with genuine Tirolean delicacies. If you like you can cut the tour short by travelling back with the ski bus. With the interactive map you can plan the winter hiking tour to the Verwall lake and download it for offload use.
