7 spots in St. Anton am Arlberg, which you should not miss out

During your winter holiday in St. Anton you shouldn't miss out on many things - like the MONT Spa wellness area at the Arlmont Hotel. The other 6 places ...

Just like some places in St. Anton. Even without seeing them, a stay in the winter paradise will be spectacular and eventful. But only exploring a few selected spots makes for unparalleled moments of enjoyment. If you are looking for extraordinary experiences, you will definitely find them in St. Anton am Arlberg, on and off the slopes!

1. Valluga panorama: Keeping an eagle eye out on the Arlberg

The Valluga, the region’s highest mountain, affords a breathtaking panoramic view of the border triangle of Switzerland, Italy and Austria. On clear days, you can even see Liechtenstein, Germany and the deep blue Lake Constance. Skiing equipment is not required, even pedestrians can access high alpine terrain. From the village centre of St. Anton, the Galzigbahn travels up the Galzig where you hop on the Vallugabahn. Another small gondola takes you even closer to the sky, up to an elevation of 2,811 metres. But descending on skis is only possible with a guide! There is no official ski run, only open and steep terrain which is prone to avalanches.

2. Tobogganing fun: Exhilarating ride to the valley and mountain huts

Looking to satisfy your need for speed on the snow? Then an exhilarating toboggan ride is just right for you. A floodlit run winds down over 4.3 km from the Gampen to the valley. After the ride, stop by at the Rodelalm and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate near the blazing fireplace. If you want to fortify yourself before the ride, the Gampen restaurant is great for a stopover, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays there’s live music in the evening. It doesn't get more authentic – except on Sundays when locals meet for their Sunday “Frühschoppen”, a tradition of meeting up at a pub in the late morning. The Gampen restaurant with its cosy bar and probably the largest sun terrace of the Arlberg is perfect to refuel. Two restaurants offer a variety of dumplings, Tiroler Gröstl (bacon, onion and potato fry-up), Kaiserschmarrn (a sweet, fluffy shredded pancake) and more. Both the Nassereinbahn near the Hotel Arlmont and the Gampenbahn in the village centre lead straight to enjoyment.

 3. Freestyle Park: Where coolness meets skill in St. Anton

The Rendlbahn which opened in 2009 takes you from the centre of St. Anton to one of the finest spots of the freestyle scene: the STANTON Park, a snow park that is surprisingly large. Launching yourself off the fat kickers, boxes and rails requires some courage and a fair amount of craziness. But everyone has to start somewhere! And once you get the hang of it, there are endless runs possible with the park’s own lift. If you rather leave the stunts to the professionals, you can watch from the Rendl Beach Bar.

 4. Ski show “The snow must go on”: It’s showtime, thrills included

Punch or mulled wine are great to relax, whereas an amazing and thrilling event takes place at the 2001 World Cup Stadium. Ski schools, the Arlberg cable car companies and tourist boards present the spectacular ski show "The Snow must go on". The multimedia show takes visitors on a journey through Arlberg’s history of skiing with the piste serving as an oversized screen. Shows occur every Wednesday at 9.00 p.m. until the end of March at the Karl

Schranz World Cup Stadium. Admission is free and a complimentary night bus service is available.

5. arl.park: Jumping for joy

If you want to try something extraordinary in your winter holidays, the arl.park is the right spot for you. The new indoor trampoline hall in St. Anton am Arlberg has 13 trampoline fields, a large air cushion and a freefall tower, making it the most exciting jump experience for all ages! Where? At the sports and climbing centre arl.rock, right next to the train station.

6. Village stroll: Feel the atmosphere of the global village

While on holidays in the world-famous cradle of skiing, take a walk through the village to discover its unique flair. Lined with trendy fashion boutiques, well-equipped sports shops and inviting cafés, the pedestrian zone is great to stroll around window-shopping or buying the latest ski equipment. To return to the Hotel Arlmont, walk back through the centre or take the World Cup Mile, a traffic-free path leading along the old railway line.

7. MONT SPA: An oasis you never want to leave

Sometimes you need a few moments for yourself, and there’s no need to leave the Hotel Arlmont to catch your breath and relax. On the three levels of the hotel's own wellness area MONT SPA, the choices range from fitness and yoga to sauna, steam bath, adventure shower and massages, panoramic relaxation areas and of course the amazing rooftop pool. This is how deep relaxation is made easy at the Hotel Arlmont!
